Software Engineer, Backend - Lead Engineer (Founding Position)

Overview

We’re seeking a Backend Engineer to build and scale the infrastructure powering The Projekt Pool. As a founding team member, you’ll shape our product architecture, contribute to major decisions, and help build a fast, secure, and scalable backend. You’ll collaborate closely with our CEO, product team, and frontend engineers.

Responsibilities

• Own backend system design and architecture from day one.
• Build scalable APIs and data pipelines using Node.js and Prisma.
• Manage infrastructure, deployment, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ensure system reliability, security, and high performance.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers to ship end-to-end features.
• Evaluate and integrate third-party APIs and external services.

About You

• Experienced with Node.js, Express/Nest.js, and backend frameworks.
• Skilled in MongoDB, Prisma, and data modeling best practices.
• Familiar with deploying applications to AWS or Vercel.
• Understands API design, REST, and GraphQL standards.
• Comfortable with DevOps tools, version control, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Bonus: Experience with serverless infrastructure and AI/ML pipelines.

What We Offer

• Compensation: $85,000 - $105,000 annual salary
• Equity: 0.5% – 1.0%
